Responsibilities
As a Cloud Architect & Consultant*, you will support our clients on their journey to digitalization and advise them on the optimal use of cloud technologies. You will design and plan cloud infrastructures that are in line with our clients’ business goals and requirements.
1. You design scalable and high-performance cloud architectures based on different deployment models
2. You select the best cloud services, technologies and providers for the client
3. You support the implementation and configuration, as well as the migration of existing applications (including redesign), based on the designed architecture patterns
4. You implement security policies, access controls and encryption to ensure the (data) security of the cloud infrastructure
5. You drive automation to enable easier provisioning, scaling and maintenance of resources
6. You create architecture documentation to provide a clear overview of the cloud infrastructure
7. You collaborate across projects with developers, operations teams and security teams to ensure the cloud infrastructure meets the needs of all stakeholders
8. You will continuously evaluate the latest cloud technologies and best practices to ensure the infrastructure is up to date and can cope with changing business requirements
Qualifications
9. You have relevant professional experience in the field of cloud architecture
10. You have comprehensive expertise in the concepts of cloud computing (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and the various deployment models (public, private and hybrid cloud)
11. You have proven in-depth knowledge of leading cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
12. You are able to design complex system architectures and to communicate the architectural decisions effectively to various stakeholders
13. Experience in advising customers on cloud service models, migration/transformation and support and maintenance models
14. Experience in designing, building and setting up network infrastructures, including data flow, subnets, VLANs, firewalls and routing
15. You are able to evaluate the computing power of processors and GPUs and allocate resources according to the workload
16. Experience in the design or provision of storage infrastructure, databases and data management (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle Database)
17. Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP
18. Practical understanding of security principles around malware attacks (e.g. anti-virus software, threat analysis technologies such as sandboxing, firewall) and authentication methods, as well as data encryption standards and disaster recovery strategies
19. Experience in server virtualization with various hypervisors such as VMware ESXI, Hyper-V, XenServer
20. Knowledge of managing large data center infrastructures, including product knowledge of network components (e.g. Cisco Nexus switches, Arista and Juniper routers and IDC backbone networks)
21. Knowledge of development, especially with current programming languages and cloud frameworks such as Python, Ruby on Rails, Apache Hadoop
22. Good expression skills to create clear and understandable documentation for different target groups in the organization
23. Knowledge in the areas of DevOps, DevSecOps, SysOps, CI/CD, code repository technologies
24. Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker), as well as knowledge of automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform or CloudFormation)
25. Knowledge of InfoSec controls such as web application firewalls, MFA, reverse proxy, logging and IAM
