Technical Services Manager (m/f/d) - Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg
The Technical Services Team is dedicated to maximizing the performance and availability of utilities and infrastructure systems, ensuring uninterrupted operations at Gigafactory Berlin. This dynamic team works tirelessly to maintain, enhance, and restore these systems through a combination of preventative and corrective maintenance strategies.
We are seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager - Vehicle Manufacturing - to lead a team of engineers and technicians in planning, building, and expanding all necessary facilities to support our vehicle manufacturing processes. This role is pivotal to the continued growth and operational efficiency of the Gigafactory.
What You’ll Do
* Leadership & Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.
* Facility Planning & Development: Oversee the planning, design, and construction of new facilities and the expansion of existing infrastructure to support vehicle manufacturing.
* Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement preventative and corrective maintenance strategies to ensure maximum availability and performance of utilities and infrastructure systems.
* Operational Efficiency: Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and implement solutions that improve system performance and reliability.
* Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure all facilities and maintenance activities comply with local regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
* Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for facility projects and maintenance operations, optimizing resources and reducing costs where possible.
* Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to the team, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive operational excellence especially for following systems and processes:
* Compressed air systems
* Chillers, cooling towers and chilled water systems
* Boiler and Hot Water systems
* Liquid and Gas Tank Farm
* Natural Gas
* Dust Collector systems
* HVAC / ACUs (Air Conditioning Units)
* Crisis Management: Lead the response to critical incidents affecting infrastructure and utilities, coordinating efforts to minimize downtime and restore normal operations quickly.
What You’ll Bring
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
* Proven experience (7+ years) in managing technical services or facilities in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive industry.
* Strong leadership skills with experience in building and managing diverse teams of engineers and technicians.
* Demonstrated expertise in facility planning, construction, and maintenance management.
* Excellent project management skills, with a record of accomplishment of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
* In-depth knowledge of utilities, infrastructure systems, and maintenance best practices.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
* Proficiency in German and English is required.
