The Foreign Trade Law Compliance (FTLC) team is part of the “International Trade Compliance, Customs and Credit Management (ITCC)” department of Covestro Deutschland AG and is globally responsible for ensuring that Covestro’s business is conducted in compliance with all export regulations. Amongst others, this includes reviewing trade regulations, restrictions and sanctions issued by the jurisdictions where Covestro is doing business, explaining them to Covestro’s Business Entities and central functions, thus ensuring that no financial or non-financial risks exist. In this context, the Senior Manager Export Control Governance (m/f/d) is responsible for the full review and implementation of the export control regulations and sanctions for Covestro globally.
1. You are responsible for tracking and complying with global and national developments in foreign trade law or changes in law, such as decrees or amendments to regulations and sanctions, etc
2. In your new position you will be responsible for the global monitoring of sanctions in the relevant jurisdictions, e.g. US, CN, UK and EU, as well as their implementation and documentation within the Covestro Group, e.g. in the Business Entities and central functions
3. You will analyse and evaluate foreign trade related legal developments with regard to their impact on all business areas and derive the appropriate measures. You will also determine the scope for decision-making for the business units in compliance with the sanctions
4. You are the central point of contact for fundamental questions of foreign trade law vis-à-vis all business areas and corporate functions as well as for external and internal audits in the area of export control
5. You will coordinate the cooperation with the respective regional managers and develop common minimum standards for global export control, including the Internal Compliance Program
6. You will be responsible for the worldwide training program Export Controls: Creation and roll-out of extensive training documents and documentation e.g. WBT, Class-room Trainings
7. You will operate the global risk management for export control and derive and implement globally valid governance requirements and guidance from it
WHAT YOU OFFER
8. You have successfully completed studies in the field of economics, law, business law with a focus on foreign trade law, compliance or comparable courses of study
9. You have gained several years of relevant professional experience and well-founded, detailed knowledge in the field of foreign trade and export control
10. You are characterised by in-depth experience in the processing and implementation of sanctions regulations of different countries, taking into account complex, global business processes
11. Ideally, you have a very good ability to convey complex legislation to business units and central functions in an understandable way
12. You show strong communication skills and assertiveness, high team orientation, very good presentation skills and an independent, structured and goal-oriented way of working
13. Business fluent German and English, both written and spoken complete your profile
