Global Medical Affairs Director Ophthalmology
This is a highly strategic and multifaceted leadership role requiring both scientific expertise and strong collaboration skills. You will be at the forefront of shaping the global Medical Affairs function within the Ophthalmology TA, working across teams and borders to bring innovative treatments to patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Set the Vision: Define and drive the global Medical Affairs strategy for the TA, guiding an experienced group of Ophthalmology medical experts.
* Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, and other key functions to ensure alignment of medical strategies with corporate and healthcare community needs.
* Strategic Decision Making: Serve as a key decision-maker on internal and external governance committees.
* Drive Scientific Strategy: Lead and coordinate medical input across clinical development, medical-marketing, and market access strategies.
* Ensure Scientific Excellence: Review and contribute to brand plans, scientific engagement, and communication strategies in alignment with global strategy.
* Team Leadership: Inspire, manage, and develop a high-performing Medical Affairs team.
* Global Partnership Management: Collaborate with global and regional teams, local affiliates, and external stakeholders to integrate insights and drive the success of medical plans.
Requirements:
* MD (specialist in Ophthalmology preferred) or PhD in a relevant scientific field.
* Extensive pharmaceutical industry experience, with several years of leadership in Global Medical Affairs.
* Proven track record in building and executing global Medical Affairs strategies, including product launches and indication expansions.
* Exceptional leadership and change management skills, with experience leading mid- to large-size teams.
