Part of an AIFM composed of 6 individuals, you will manage, under the supervision of the conducting officer and Senior Portfolio Manager, all aspects of portfolio management tasks related to the onboarding and subsequent investment management of the AIFM in Luxembourg. You will be covering both closed and open-ended funds with a strong focus on private equity and real estate asset classes.
Your role
Manage under the supervision of the Conducting Officer and Head of Investment Management all aspects of of non-delegated portfolio management tasks related mostly to the approval of investments/ divestments on behalf of the funds under management of the AIFM in Luxembourg and subsequent investment management and monitoring of those investments with a strong focus on private equity and real estate (primary investments, secondary investments, co-investments, and direct investment opportunities).
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the portfolio and investment management of primary, secondary, co-investments, and direct investment opportunities in private equity/ venture capital, real estate, and private debt ;
* Support the Head of Investment Management in preparing, attending ; contributing at, and documenting Investment Committee meetings. This involves detailed analysis of the investment opportunities received from the Investment Advisor ;
* Work together with various investment teams of the Investment Advisor located across Europe to streamline business plans and assess investment opportunities
* Work in conjunction with various other teams (legal, operations, risk management, and compliance) to finalize the review of each investment opportunity and onboard transactions ;
* Provide assistance with the regular follow-up of each investment ;
* Contribute to the production of reports and quarterly board presentations ;
* Serve as a Director in various SPVs based in Luxembourg ;
* Conduct all relevant tasks as required by applicable laws and regulation, in particular the AIFM Directive, in relation to the portfolio management of AIFs.
Your profile
Qualifications and experience:
* Master’s degree in Finance or Economics,
* Minimum 5-7 years of experience as an investment manager, portfolio manager or in an investment banking division or transaction advisory team of a Big Four.
Specific knowledge:
* Good experience in and understand of private markets
* Capability to assess key risks in a private markets transaction
* Previous experience in private assets with an AIFM (would be useful)
* Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
* A qualification such as a CAIA or CFA would be an asset
Language skills:
* Fluent English and a good command of French
Personal qualities:
* Very good analytical and reasoning skills
* Ability to work independently and show very strong commitment to the tasks at hand
* Good critical faculties
* Ability to work in an organized and self-reliant way
* Ability to manage several priorities and communicate efficiently
* Ability to build meaningful connections with a large number of stakeholders
