To be successful in this position, you should have successfully completed a degree in railway engineering, vehicle engineering, mechanical/industrial engineering or a comparable degree programme and have at least 10 years of professional experience in design, consulting, manufacturing, or supervision of rolling stock in rail projects.

Your new role
As our new Senior Expert (m/f/d) Rolling Stock, your key responsibilities will be:
1. Prepare rolling stock (with relevant sub-systems) technical specifications.
2. Prepare tender documents.
3. Perform consultancy services in rolling stock projects.
4. Review and approve the design, calculations, specifications, maintenance programs provided by the suppliers.
5. Carry out manufacturing supervision, test and commissioning.
6. Cooperate in rolling stock maintenance and depot projects.
Your new team
You will be part of Ramboll Light Rail department. The Ramboll Light Rail Competence Centre Karlsruhe supports public transport systems throughout Europe. This includes the construction of new rail systems such as the People Mover at Frankfurt Airport or the introduction of a new high-quality public transport system in Kiel, as well as the expansion and modernisation of existing public transport systems in Berlin and many other projects in Europa, North America and Australia.

These include:
7. Successfully completed studies in railway engineering, vehicle engineering, mechanical/industrial engineering, or a comparable degree programme
8. At least 10 years of professional experience in rolling stock projects (preferably light rail and metro but also regional and intercity rail)
9. Very good written and spoken English skills and willingness to learn German (German skill is a big plus)
10. Ability to externally manage clients, suppliers independently and internally work as a team together with other colleagues.
11. Knowledge and familiarity with project management
12. Experience with relevant software systems (e.g. AutoCAD and Microsoft Office)
13. Willingness to relocate to Karlsruhe
14. Willingness to travel (10 - 30%)
