As part of a collaborative team, you will have the chance to contribute to various areas, including the development of system requirements specifications for new products in collaboration with product marketing. You will also be involved in executing feasibility experiments to demonstrate the proof of principle of new development concepts, and in developing and implementing measurement procedures and data analysis for the control, characterization, and optimization of high-resolution mass spectrometry instruments. Within the project team you will oversee all aspects related to experiments, including planning, setup, execution, and documentation. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing verification test plans and preparing test summary reports. Your expertise will extend to guiding mechanical and electrical engineers in the development of sub-system requirement specifications. To complete the project cycle, you will also contribute to the development of factory acceptance test procedures in close collaboration with operations as well as facilitate knowledge transfer to operations, product support, and field service teams, ensuring a smooth transition for newly developed instruments or components. Keys to Success - Demonstrate first years industrial or several years academic experience (Ph.D.) in development of sophisticated analytical instrumentation or related technologies showcasing your expertise and dedication in the field. - Showcase experience in the field of mass spectrometry or other electron / ion optical techniques would be highly appreciated. - Possess strong flexibility to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently and structured in a detailed scientific manner. - Effective and efficient in designing and implementing automated instrument tuning routines using Python or other scripting languages. - Demonstrate hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electronic components, highlighting your ability to work with and resolve technical challenges. - Prior experience in instrument control, scripting and mass spectrometry applications is appreciated. - Emphasize your strong flexibility to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently, demonstrating your ability to adapt to different work dynamics while maintaining a structured and detailed scientific approach.
