W2-Professorship for Metabolic Inflammation and Carcinogenesis of the Liver (m/w/d)

The University of Lübeck is a profile university with the profile-defining areas of health sciences and population medicine and health services research as well as the research focus areas ‘Infection and Inflammation’, ‘Brain, Hormones, Behaviour’ and ‘Biomedical Engineering’. A research concept explaining how the applicant's planned work relates to these areas should be submitted with the application.
Reference is made to the requirements of § 61 HSG. In addition to a doctorate, recruitment requirements include additional academic achievements, which must be proven in the context of a junior professorship or through a habilitation or equivalent academic achievements, which can also be achieved outside the university sector. Reference is made to a possible time limit in accordance with § 63 (1).
The Higher Education Act obliges the Faculty of Medicine at Kiel University and the University of Lübeck to cooperate closely with each other and with the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein, to form focal points and to coordinate these with each other. This is also expected of the holder of the W2 professorship.
Your responsibilities:The professorship is initially limited to 5 years with the possibility of a permanent appointment in the event of a positive evaluation. The professorship is located at the Medical Clinic I of the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Lübeck. The future holder of the position should have a proven track record in metabolic inflammation in the field of hepatology with respect to metabolic liver diseases, chronic infectious diseases and / or hepatocarcinogenesis. Active promotion of co-operation between the existing Medical Scientists and (Advanced) Clinician Scientists initiatives at the University of Lübeck is expected. Internationally visible research activity, evidenced by publications and third-party funding is a prerequisite.
