The School of Mechanical Engineering and Safety Engineering,\nChair of Materials for Additive Manufacturing,\ninvites applications for\na position as\nResearch Assistant (doctoral student) in a research project on Additive Manufacturing of Composite Materials\nThis position is to be filled as soon as possible for up to 3 years with 75 % of the standard working time.\nSalary: E 13 TV-L\n\nProfessional and personal requirements:\nYou have successfully completed a university degree in materials science, chemistry or similar, are interested in materials research and would like to gain further qualifications with a doctorate.\nIf you meet the following requirements, we look forward to receiving your application:\nVery good knowledge in the field of nanomaterials, and a good understanding of materials science\nFirst experiences in the realm of additive manufacturing\nEnthusiasm for working in research and skillful handling of complex systems and equipment\nGreat care, independence and reliability\nSelf-organization skills, ability to work in a team and good communication skills\nVery good English language skills (oral and written)\nVery good written expression\nThe following are also desirable:\nKnowledge of laser material processing and optics\nBasic understanding in CAD and numerical simulation\nBasic knowledge in the field of magnetic materials\nExperience in scanning electron microscopy and associated sample preparation\n\nResponsibilities and duties:\nYou will be employed to work independently on a sub-research project in the field of developing new functional composite materials for additive manufacturing. This includes the production of nanoparticles by means of laser ablation in liquids, processing into composites for 3D printing and comprehensive analytics.\nYou will share responsibility for the maintenance of laboratory equipment, take on organizational tasks, regularly attend meetings and exchange information with partners.\nFurther tasks that await you are:\nDocumentation, publication and presentation of scientific research results\nCreative development and pursuit of new research approaches in the field of materials development\n\nWe offer flexible working hours, a pleasant working atmosphere in a motivated team and close scientific supervision, and will support you in achieving your further professional goals.
