Hauptaufgaben Serves as Supply Technician coordinating the work of three to five ammunition inventory team members. Performs supply functions related to the resolution of discrepancies between physical inventory data and the available ammunition accountability records as a result of the physical inventory of ammunition stocks on hand. Responsibilities include providing technical guidance to the inventory team members, data transcribers who sporadically participate in inventories, production planners (distribution facilities specialists) who participate in special inventories in preparation of short notice/emergency ammunition shipments, and explosive operators required to move ammunition. Interprets policy guidance, requirement interpretations, advice, and procedural instruction. Provides on-the-job training, ensures accomplishment of assigned tasks. Performs other duties which do not comprise the full range of supervisory or lead functions. During the phase of record processing, the employee participates in on-site inventories of ammunition, to include verification of counted quantities by category, condition codes, proper location and similar pertinent information. Assists the Chief, Inventory Branch with causative research and in-depth investigation of discrepancies between physical inventory data and current stock control records. Maintains daily contact with Stock Control Personnel, Ammunition Planners and Ammunition Storage managers for explanation of transactions that effect accountable records and to obtain additional information required to resolve inventory discrepancies. Responsible for performing and expediting off-line inventories. Researches computer listings, historical files, and other available sources to monitor inventories and related activities and identifies potential and actual problems, and other ammunition related documents, stock records, and special administrative and management activities and functions. Applies a thorough knowledge of ammunition-related practices, procedures, and computer operations. With minimum guidance oversees the operations of his/her assigned area of responsibility as an integral part of the Inventory Branch, RSA Miesau. Adjusts inventory discrepancies disclosed by physical inventories, warehouse denials, receipts and requisitions by reviewing the quarterly and daily transaction history register, Shipment Receipt History File, Purge File, Document History File, Retired File, and other available data source documents. Investigates the activity on the item in question by searching summaries, activity registers, and other reference sources. Initiates action to freeze material to preclude issue if needed. Proposes inventory adjustments when the cause of discrepancy is determined. Collects data for causative research if required. Maintains and prepares records, reports, and files relative to work being performed. Research and investigation involve complete analyzes of transactions dating back to several years and application of considerable fact finding methods to identify systemic or administrative errors and determine trends and error factors so adjustment cause code may be assigned. Initiates corrective action for unprocessed document identifier codes, i.e. ,adjustments, NSN changes, negative balances, shipments, receipts, reversals, over/under shipments, confirmations, cancellations, reclassifications, loan status, interdepot transfer status, and CONUS status in order to correct actions to the various automated data processing files. Detects new systemic problems and reports their findings to the supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned.
