Position Overview:
The Vice President of Supply Chain will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the global supply chain strategy for the organization. This is a strategic leadership role with oversight of all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, distribution, and demand planning. The VP of Supply Chain will be responsible for optimizing the supply chain network, driving operational efficiency, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining high service levels across all regions.
The successful candidate will work closely with other senior leaders, and key business stakeholders, and provide direction to regional supply chain teams across the globe. This is a highly visible position with a focus on setting long-term strategic direction, implementing best practices, and leading digital transformation initiatives within the supply chain function.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
* Develop and lead the global supply chain strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s business objectives and growth plans.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to regional supply chain teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
* Collaborate with other senior executives to drive supply chain integration, agility, and efficiency in a rapidly changing global market.
Global Supply Chain Operations:
* Oversee all aspects of the supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, demand planning, and distribution across 20+ countries.
* Develop and implement a global logistics strategy to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure timely and accurate deliveries to customers.
* Optimize inventory management and demand forecasting processes to reduce lead times and improve working capital.
* Ensure supply chain processes meet quality, cost, and service standards while aligning with regulatory and compliance requirements.
Cost Management & Process Improvement:
* Drive cost-saving initiatives through process optimization, strategic sourcing, and negotiation with suppliers.
* Identify opportunities to streamline supply chain processes and introduce automation, data analytics, and digital tools to enhance efficiency.
* Lead initiatives to reduce supply chain complexity, improve supplier performance, and ensure high standards of customer service.
Risk Management & Compliance:
* Mitigate risks within the global supply chain by identifying potential disruptions, developing contingency plans, and ensuring business continuity.
* Ensure compliance with local and global regulations, sustainability goals, and health & safety standards across all supply chain activities.
Team Development & Leadership:
* Build and lead a high-performing global supply chain team, promoting talent development, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Lead change management efforts to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the supply chain function.
KPIs & Reporting:
* Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of supply chain operations and provide actionable insights to the executive team.
* Regularly report on supply chain performance, opportunities for improvement, and key initiatives to the C-suite and other key stakeholders.
Key Qualifications:
* Proven track record of at least 10-15 years in global supply chain leadership, with significant experience in managing large teams and complex operations across multiple geographies.
* Strong experience in developing and executing supply chain strategies with a strategic focus, driving efficiencies, and improving service levels.
* Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and lead cross-functional teams.
* Expertise in supply chain optimization, logistics, inventory management, demand planning, procurement, and distribution on a global scale.
* Strong understanding of supply chain technologies and digital tools, including ERP systems, demand forecasting software, and analytics platforms.
* Ability to manage budgets, optimize costs, and implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising service levels.
* High proficiency in data analysis, risk management, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
* Strong communication skills, with fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
* A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field; MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., APICS) preferred.
