We assist researchers with pursuing funding opportunities, partnering with next users of research (including national and local government, non-government organisations and business), completing grant applications, and the establishment of research contracts. Since its formation in 2011, R&E has grown research income from $88M to over $184M, through an extended period of significant change in government strategy and investment. The role/Te mahi Senior Research Administrators provide support to one or more research client portfolios (normally a group of academic departments or units). Working in partnership with Research and Enterprise Managers and Advisers, the role provides effective and efficient pre-award and post-award administrative support for research grants and supports the Research and Enterprise Division, researchers and University meet obligations to research sponsors and collaborators. A typical day in this role would include managing emails from a shared email account, with a sub-folder allocated specific to this appointment, supporting the Wellington based Research Advisory. As a Senior Research Administrator, you will also: • Help manage the overarching submission and results processing of funding applications. • Process contracts, variations and reporting within the database RAS, a database being introduced into the division in early 2025. • Perform document checking (QA), ensuring details in documents correspond to details as entered in the database. • Liaise with a variety of personnel both internal and external to the University. • Manage research applications and contracts within a variety of funder portals including USA and EU portals. The role is a key administrative conduit for external funders and is part of a team flexibly providing administrative services across the Division and the University. Support to this role is located primarily in Dunedin (Team Leader, plus 8 colleagues) and Christchurch (1 colleague). One to one training will be provided at the commencement of this appointment, with ongoing on-line support from colleagues eager to help you succeed.
