About the Role
The Global Demand Planning Director will lead the demand planning function of the Health and Medical business unit by driving best-in-class processes and ways of working to develop unbiased demand-led planning. This role will create the path and orchestrate the roadmap to lead Essity into achieving world-class, value-creating demand forecast, enabling robust S&OP and solid IBP.

What You Will Do
Build and Develop the Business Unit Demand Planning Team
Lead, drive, and develop a Global Demand Planning Community (approx. 30 FTE) of which the statistical team is based in Germany and enrichment is done by demand planners located in the markets around the globe. They will be part of the organization under the BU Global Demand Planning Director.
Define and orchestrate demand planning capabilities, in cooperation with the Global Essity Demand function, for the full demand planner community. Taking into account the digital transformation to SAP/S4 and use of AI, secure the importance of building and developing a team with a «future-ready» set of capabilities, who is equipped to leverage future advances in SCP technology.
Provide expert guidance in statistical forecasting and overall Demand Planning, sharing best practices and building the required capability in the organization.
Drive Demand planning best practices within the BU
Continue to lead the transformation of current processes and ways of working to further expand standardized processes across the BU and geographies. All in line with the global template.
Lead, implement and continuously improve the statistical forecast methods and generation including automation/machine learning.
Ensure the delivery of an advanced forecasting capability built around robust segmentation, statistical modelling, and selective enrichment processes.
Partner Cross-Functionally with BU stakeholders to Ensure Demand Planning Adds Business Value
Be an ambassador and trainer in demand planning for all relevant stakeholders in commercial.
Be the Voice of Demand planning for the BU and play an active role in S&OP and long-range planning processes to develop and drive a consensual plan that delivers business objectives.
Define, plan, and execute the IBP roadmaps in the BU, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives
Contribute to end-to-end logistics/supply chain strategy
Drive both an operational and strategic agenda while acting as a change agent to enable a step change in Demand work processes efficiency and effectiveness throughout the supply chain.
Contribute to Shaping Essity’s Demand Planning Future
Actively participate in global demand planning networks across all Essity BU’s and geographies
Work together with the Global Demand Planning Process Owner (organized in Global Supply Chain) defining demand planning work-processes and deploying them consistently across the BU
Accelerate the use of digital tools
Who You Are
University degree preferably in Supply Chain Management or a related field
Proven international leadership experience gained through a minimum of 10-15 years in Supply Chain leadership roles, ideally in FMCG/MedTech industry
Excellent change management skills and Supply Chain transformation experience within a matrix organization
Proven experience in Integrated Business Planning (IBP) implementation
Solid S&OP leadership experience
Very good knowledge and experience in Supply Chain/Demand and Forecasting process, related trends and “state of the art” best practices
Excellent communication and training skills, with solid stakeholder management and influencing skills
Willing to travel 30% of your time
The position can be based in any of the large Essity offices in Europe.
