The Position Working on the future of analytical and chemical process development. To reach this goal we are searching a highly motivated and innovative postdoctoral fellow working in the field of software development for automated analytical method development to speed up analytical and chemical process development for new small molecule projects. Tasks & responsibilities - In your new role, you will be responsible to develop and implement a platform to enable automated method development on analytical instruments used for chromatography (HPLC, GC). - With your expertise, you will develop modelling and analysis workflows for open and closed loop optimization tasks. - Furthermore, you will develop applications (backend & frontend), controlling lab instruments to autonomously plan, execute and analyze experiments. - Moreover, you will collaborate with chemists, data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to integrate your solutions into analytical development processes. - In addition, you will share your research outcomes through internal presentations, publications, and participation in international conferences. Requirements - Ph.D. in Computer Science, Natural Sciences, or a related field - Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks relevant to data science and web application development e.g., Python, Streamlit, C# - Experience in applying active learning, Bayesian optimization, and/or reinforcement learning to real-world optimization problems is a plus - Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team - Team player with an independent working style and excellent communication skills - Fluency in English, both written and spoken Ready to contact us?
