Amazon’s Game Theory team is at the forefront of innovation, driving strategic negotiation excellence and procurement transformation across the Global Procurement Organization (GPO). We are seeking a Game Theory Expert to join our dynamic team and make a significant impact on procurement outcomes. In this role, you will use Game Theory principles to design and execute strategic tendering processes, develop innovative negotiation strategies, and provide high-value consulting to a diverse set of Categories in Amazon. You will be instrumental in delivering measurable cost savings, fostering supplier competition, and enhancing procurement strategies through state-of-the-art methodologies. Key job responsibilities - Collaborate with Category Managers to design and implement negotiation strategies using Game Theory that maximize savings and drive optimal procurement outcomes. - Lead high-stakes tenders using Game Theory methodologies, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational objectives. - Deliver tailored training sessions to equip Category Managers with Game Theory tools and techniques. - Develop and refine negotiation frameworks, tools, and resources to enable scalable Game Theory adoption across GPO. - Provide real-time support and sparring for Category Managers during critical negotiation phases. - Partner with cross-functional teams to shape category strategies, assess market dynamics, and implement innovative procurement solutions. - Continuously push the boundaries of Game Theory application by exploring advanced models and concepts to address evolving challenges. About the team The Game Theory team operates as an internal consultancy within Amazon’s GPO, partnering with Category Managers from a diverse set of Categories to transform procurement processes and outcomes. Comprising passionate experts who thrive on analytical challenges, the team is dedicated to pushing the limits of what is possible in procurement. Together, we create strategies that not only deliver cost savings but also drive innovation and long-term value for Amazon. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree - Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL - Experience with basic web-based tools and products like Outlook, Excel, Word and SharePoint - Experience in program or project management - Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment - Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics - Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements - Strong analytical and conceptual skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple demanding projects simultaneously, committed, and customer-oriented. - Cooperative mindset, open-mindedness and enthusiasm for continuous learning. - Knowledge of Game Theory.
