Senior IT Category Manager (all genders)
As Senior IT Category Manager at Amadeus, you’ll be at the heart of a system that powers 150 airlines, hundreds of websites, tens of airports, and thousands of hotel properties. You’ll drive the development of global category practices, manage end-to-end sourcing processes, and play a pivotal role in defining category strategies on a global scale.
In this role, you will be responsible for the infrastructure category, which covers hardware, security, hosting, datacomms, and personal equipment for the full Amadeus scope. In addition to these responsibilities, you’ll also lead a team of three category buyers, dedicated to covering all regions worldwide and also cooperate with regional buyers for APAC, NORAM, LATAM, and MEA regions. You'll be fostering their professional growth while coordinating efforts to achieve strategic goals. This leadership role adds a significant dimension to your impact, extending your influence across multiple regions.
But how translates that into your responsibilities:
Execute Global categories, leads sourcing projects, contract implementation & drives contract compliance
1. Manage end-to-end sourcing processes from negotiation to contract
2. Establish measures and controls for the Category practice to ensure and track successful implementation
3. Coordinate contract implementation tasks with Regional Buyers and users
4. Interact with Legal and Finance teams when required in relation to purchasing scope
5. Ensures that any goods or services required by the company (materials, equipment, supplies, services) are selected, ordered and delivered in a timely manner, at best cost and in accordance with purchasing policy
6. Responsible for Risk & Regulation management, identifying and monitoring closely Vendor Risk, Regulation, and Vendor Performance
7. Defined Initiatives, KPIs and Scorecard related to Risk, Regulation and Performance, in relation with Data & Analytics owner, Category teams, Risk and Compliance Area, Security, Legal, Finance & Business departments
8. Ensure Amadeus is including all the appropriate measures and requirements in our third parties relationship to maintain safely our asset and customer ones
9. Staying current with evolving industry and regulatory changes impacting supplier risk management.
Manage the procurement strategy definition and implementation / from Strategic planning to sourcing execution for a set of global categories
10. Analyze and set category spend baseline and category profile, incl. risk assessment, SRM and P2P strategy
11. On behalf of Cluster Lead, develop specific Category strategies with the support of the Category Lead buyers
12. Support the Cluster Lead in the definition of a priority list of categories suitable for strategic sourcing initiatives
13. Lead internal and external analysis (industry and supplier) as a member of a cross functional sourcing team.
Manage supplier relationships for Global categories
14. In line with defined procurement strategy, support the classification and categorization of suppliers
15. Continuously track supplier performance and lead supplier development activities
16. Identify potential contract improvement opportunities & re-negotiations
Manage internal customer relationships for global categories
17. Within the framework of the cross functional supplier development teams, closely develop and manage the relationship with internal customers
18. Proactively organize sessions with internal customers to identify further TCO/TVO reduction opportunities
19. Improve and reinforce procurement’s profile and recognition within the internal customer community including technical stakeholders and management layer
Contribute to the Public cloud journey for Purchasing organization
20. Together with Public Cloud Lead Buyer define the category strategy
21. Define future Purchasing operating model in the context of movement to Public cloud
Lead the team of Category buyers
22. Manage and coordinate team activity
23. Ensure engagement, cascade information
24. Define objectives end ensure development reviews

Who are we looking for? No one less than you:
30. Over 5 years’ experience within a strategic procurement environment is ideal, or alternatively, a background in Engineering or Sales supplemented by relevant job experience providing wide and deep insights into Purchasing practice
31. Possessing strong technical acumen enables understanding and contribution to complex technical discussions related to hardware equipment and infrastructure (compute storage network equipment and related maintenance and support services), security services, internal IT scope (laptops desktops printers)
32. Familiarity with public cloud services and their corresponding supply chain (HW & NW Vendors and CSPs) is expected
33. Skills in procurement analysis are needed, such as understanding and challenging specifications and requirements; historical spend and demand; vendors both qualitative and quantitative information; cost structures and TCO
34. Knowledge of products/services related to the specific category under job responsibility is required
35. Experience in managing Strategic Sourcing Projects is a must
36. Knowledge to develop and follow-up on the supplier screening and selection process through RFx tools is necessary
37. Proficiency in negotiating Contractual Legal Frameworks and managing contract lifecycle is essential
38. Proficiency in English, other languages are a plus
