About the role...
The candidate will be affiliated with the SIGCOM group. The successful candidate is expected to assume on a permanent basis a leading role in :
* Defining, acquiring, managing, and scientifically contributing to projects in the area of 6G communication systems
* Coordinating a team of Research Associates (PostDocs)
* Hiring & supporting PhD candidates in their thesis research
* Contributing to the teaching curriculum offering in the SnT strategic areas of Space, Cybersecurity and Autonomous systems

Your profile...
* PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on information, communication, signal processing, networking or quantum theory
* More than 4 years international postdoctoral relevant work and research experience
* Documented research expertise in 6G communications
* Proven track record in carrying a leading role in research project acquisition and management
* Proven track record in publishing high quality research outputs in the top 10% transactions and journals
* Experience in managing and building up research teams and delivering research results
* Experience in research collaboration with industrial partners
* Strong experience in supporting PhD candidates in their research
* Prior experience in teaching university-level courses
* Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory
* Commitment, team working and a critical mind
The ideal candidate should have experience in a number of the following topics:
* Non-Terrestrial Networks
* Distributed Communication Systems
* High-frequency Radio Frequency Communications
* Antenna Array Design & Prototyping
* Semantic & Task-oriented Communications
* Intersection of communication, sensing and positioning systems
* Quantum Communications
* Optical Communications
Being expert in a number of the following mathematical tools:
* Multivariate statistical analysis
* Convex/non-convex optimization
* Machine Learning (generative, spatiotemporal, graph-based approaches)
* Graph theory
