Summary & Role Information
You’ll be the User Assistance (UA) Developer (technical writer) for one or two development teams. You’ll develop documentation in a future-proof cloud environment, using state-of-the-art development methods.
What you will do:
1. As a User Assistance Developer/Technical Writer, you’ll describe SAP Cloud ALM and new features being developed for our users. This includes application help on the internet (SAP Help Portal), in-app help, user interface (UI) texts, terminology work, how-to videos, and blog posts.
2. You’ll be working closely with colleagues in product management, user experience (UX), and software development to learn all about the product and its features. It’s your job to explain everything to all kinds of users from the big picture down to the small details.
3. Our highly agile, feature-based, cloud-native, continuous development mode enables you to do updates daily. Being integrated into an agile Scrum team, you will profit from a frequent, personal exchange so that you can quickly react and implement changes.
4. You’ll collaborate with the central UA team, daily, to ensure cross-product consistency and support each other.
What you bring :
5. 1 or more years of experience in the field of technical writing in IT
6. Degree in English studies, or English native speaker with excellent writing skills (documentation is written in English)
7. Fluent in German (core teams are based in Germany and you’ll be required to check German translation)
8. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
9. Experience with GitHub is a plus
10. Experience with development teams working in an agile/Scrum mode or in feature-driven, cloud-native development is a plus
11. You’re an open-minded, quick, flexible team player, embrace diversity, and have excellent communication skills
12. General openness to IT and software topics, and a passion for breaking down complicated things into simple words. If your biggest dream is to be a poet, novelist, travel guide author, or the next Don Draper, this job might require extra flexibility on your part.

You’ll be in the central team in SAP Cloud ALM that bundles experts for technical documentation, quality, security, and daily deployment. You’ll take part in pilot cases and be a frontrunner in many aspects across SAP.
