Job Description
1. Utilize modern sequencing-based molecular biology approaches (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, HiChIP, Hi-C, PRO-seq, etc.) to test hypothesis and examine epigenetic and gene regulatory mechanisms controlling pancreatic tumor cell identity and therapy response.
2. Bioinformatic analysis and interpretation of data followed by hypothesis testing and generation.
3. Perform multiplex immunofluorescence staining to confirm gene regulatory mechanisms in primary tumor tissue using multispectral imaging with an Akoya PhenoImager.
4. Perform tissue-based preparation of histological samples (FFPE tumor material) for single cell RNA-sequencing using the 10X Genomics technology.
5. Perform advanced cell culture experiments to examine the effects of drug treatment in various translational model systems.
6. Participation in internal or external research collaborations.
7. Documentation of work procedures, data acquisition and analyses
Qualifications
8. Strong work ethic and high level of self-motivation
9. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited Master of Science program in a related field (biology, molecular biology, molecular medicine, or similar)
10. Basic experience with cell culture, transfections, etc.
11. Experience with molecular biology techniques (real-time PCR, Western blot, etc.)
12. Strong interest in learning and gaining proficiency in bioinformatic analyses
13. Independent, goal-oriented and structured way of working and ability to work in a team
14. Confident written and spoken English skills
15. Dedication to making a difference in the lives of cancer patients through innovative and impactful research
