Job DescriptionReporting to the Vice President/General Manager of (LPD) Liquid Phase Chromatography, Mass Spectroscopy and Automation Divisions the VP/GM for (LPSD) Liquid Phase Separations Division will have P&L responsibility for Agilent’s core portfolio of Liquid Chromatography platforms and will be accountable for defining business strategy, delivering profitable growth, growing market share and managing a global operation. She/he will be a key member of the LPD executive leadership team and will work in close partnership with (LSAG) Life Sciences and Applied Markets Group and other Agilent executive teams to advance Agilent's success in the life sciences, diagnostics and applied chemical markets.This role will be located at Agilent’s Waldbronn, Germany location leading a highly talented team of marketing, customer excellence and R&D organization with matrixed leadership to key functions (i.e., Commercial, Manufacturing & Supply Chain, etc.).This exciting role drives one of Agilent's leading franchises in the analytical instrumentation market and is core to Agilent's 'build and buy' strategy to win through innovative products & solutions.Essential Duties and Capabilities:P&L responsibility for LPSD Deliver best in class customer experience with Liquid Chromatography products Define, advance and execute key strategies for LPSD and LPD Build organizational capabilities; engaged employees, attract, retain and grow a leadership pipeline Deliver results; align on the key financial and business deliverables with stakeholders including top & bottom line performance of the portfolio and consistently meet these deliverables on agreed to the timelines Engage and deliver on LSAG wide initiativesQualificationsKey position requirements include:Bachelor in Chemistry or other scientific discipline, advanced degree (PhD, MBA, or like) preferred 10+ years of increasing levels of management responsibilities in one or more of the following disciplines: Product Marketing, Order Fulfillment, R&D or business development, with preference to prior P/L management experienceDomain knowledge / understanding of the customers, competitors, platforms, technologies and relevant market dynamics for the global liquid chromatography market. Proven P&L leadership of large businesses and/or commercial function Strategic and execution ability; proven experience in developing and executing multi-year strategic plans at Company, Group or Business Unit level Knowledge and experience in developing, launching and ramping products Knowledge and experience leading life cycle management processes (R&D, marketing, manufacturing) Meaningful knowledge and established senior level relationships with the Channel organization and other internal partner organizations Software Informatics Division, Consumables, Services, Diagnostics Genomics Division (SID, CLSD, GPSD, DGG) critical for LPD's success Proven ability to effectively engage, interact with, influence, and retain the confidence of senior executives and peers at the executive level (internal and external to the companyDemonstrated track record of success in leading winning teams while growing revenues/market share, especially in end markets related to pharma, biopharma, life sciences and/or chemical analysis.Experienced in leading large R&D teams with complex goals and interdependencies between and across teams. Proven experience in developing and executing multi-year strategic plans at Company, Group or Business Unit level. Demonstrated track record of results using interpersonal, relationship-building skills required in leading multi-cultural and geographically dispersed teams in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment. Financial acumen and analytical analysis with deep understanding of various levers in management of complex, large P/L - Understand drivers of shareholder value and relevant business models, and how to translate these into proposals supporting financial and growth objectives. Business strategy -- Experience in creating business strategies and translation strategies to actionable plans. Influence --Ability to present compelling proposals and solutions and to debate them effectively to LSAG Staff and CEO staff. Communicate with clarity, conviction and confidence across various stakeholders and decision makers. Build and leverage productive collaborations and partnerships across internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrate written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including explaining complex concepts, delivering presentations to senior executive audiences. Demonstrate decisiveness and speed to opportunity. Ability to thrive in an environment of ambiguity and complexity that relies heavily on collaboration and cross-functional interaction.
