As for now we are looking for a Breeding Informatics Analyst with a focus on but not limited to projects related to genomic prediction of agricultural traits in plants.
Tasks
* Execution of plant performance prediction projects as part of commercial breeding programs
* Statistical assessment of raw data and results
* Creation and presentation of project reports including meaningful visualizations of results
* Close communication with customers including presentation of project results
* Assessment of breeding programs with regards to performance prediction
* Creation of automated workflows
* Method development and improvement
Requirements
* University degree (Master, PhD) in agricultural sciences, plant breeding or similar qualification
* Experience in performing genomic prediction projects
* Experience with linear mixed models
* Proficiency with statistics and data visualization
* Experience with Python programming or R scripting and Rstudio
* Knowledge about plant breeding techniques
* Knowledge of machine learning are advantageous
* Competence with the Linux shell and bash scripting are a plus
* Fluent in English
* Strong written and verbal communication
* Strong problem solving skills
* Capable of working autonomously as well as a being proactive team player
