Job Description
THE POSITION :
The Senior Medical Science Liaison will be responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within a defined territory.
The Senior MSL will be the scientific face of the Client in the field. The Senior MSL role requires mastery of technical, clinical, and functional expertise. A Senior MSL will be able to maximize and leverage Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships by identifying collaborative opportunities that meet the strategic needs of the company.
Key expectations include the Senior MSL being able to develop and maintain an excellent scientific and medical knowledge base, ability to communicate key insights learned, and disseminate critical scientific data to external stakeholders; including but not limited to academic/scientific/clinical experts, payers, and patient organizations.
The Senior MSL will be responsible for ensuring timely and appropriate input on the field medical engagement plans in support of our clinical development and commercialization programs and activities. In addition, the Senior MSL will assist and drive the support of the company’s clinical trials in partnership with the clinical development team and with researchers as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Build and maintain deep expert relationships with relevant KOLs while establishing and maintaining strong scientific connections across multi-specialty disciplines in academic centres and community practices at the local, regional, national, and international level
* Support and advise in translating the field medical strategy to a national KOL plan and ensures the KOL development strategies translate to individual territories
* Provides expert scientific support to KOLs and referring centres
* Consistently partners with Medical Information colleagues to continuously improve Standard Response Letters, FAQs, and efficiency of MIRF process
* Acts as expert and primary liaison to investigators, interested in developing and performing investigator-initiated research
* Works independently and skilled with the ability to implement the strategic medical plan and the resulting tactics in prespecified centres
* Be the primary onboarding trainer and mentor for new MSLs or Key Account Managers across all levels
* The Senior MSL will also support scientific congresses by helping to organise symposia, taking over coverage during the congress as well as contributing to the summaries
* Be responsible for organizing any pre-conference company meetings ensuring alignment with other cross functional partners such as Commercial, Compliance, and Clinical Development
* Responsible for staying abreast and maintaining mastery of current scientific and treatment landscape trends in therapeutic areas of interest
* Consistently active contributor to the cross-functional Product Team, providing the expertise to the medical and commercial plan
* Participate and advise in the planning and execution of scientific/medical advisory boards as needed.
* Serve as a scientific subject matter expert within therapeutic area(s)
Other Duties:
* Understand EU pharma rules, especially for MSL activities and HCP/patient interactions.
* Provide clinical presentations and respond to unsolicited questions in various healthcare settings.
* Create and implement territory plans aligned with broader strategies.
* Build and sustain strong relationships with clinical decision-makers at all levels.

Qualifications
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
* Scientific master’s degree is required
* Minimum of 5-10 years MSL experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
* Rare disease experience preferred, particularly in Oncology or Neurology.
* Demonstrated mastery of effectively presenting clinical/scientific information through 1:1 meetings, small group interactions, and through written communications
* Mastery level proficiency with business software including but not limited to Veeva CRM or a comparable customer relations management tool, Adobe Professional, and the Microsoft Office Suite of applications
* Ability to expertly understand, review, and communicate complex technical concepts and technologies
* Highly collaborative with outstanding relationship management skills
* Energetically embraces responsibilities and demonstrates ability to achieve goals
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule
* Has a strong personal initiative that demonstrates flexibility, innovation, and execution
* Snr MSL is required to live within the territory with which they liaise.
* Valid driver’s license required and must be in good standing.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
:
* Education: Scientific Master degree
* Experience and/or Training Experience in Oncology,Neurology especially in rare diseases
* Licenses/Certificates valid driving license
* Technology/Equipment proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and in CRM systems
