BA Wind is responsible for the development, construction and operation of wind power onshore and offshore as well as other non-hydro renewable activities like solar and batteries projects. We manage the design & development, construction, maintenance, operation and continuous improvement of wind generation assets, safely and with the highest levels of availability and profitability. Vattenfall is also engaged in execution of project joint ventures and partnerships in accordance with the overall wind strategy.

You will be leading and managing the Health & Safety team which is responsible for all H&S activities for our 3 main customers in BA Wind: BU Onshore, BU Offshore, BU Solar & Batteries. An integral part of the managerial role is to value collaboration, apply customer mindset, fosters an enjoyable and positive working environment and to drive our H&S strategy into action.
The role is a permanent employment and we are seeking for a long term solution to become an integrated part of our management team.
The role requires proactive Health & Safety engagement to support the international project teams during execution of our asset projects in Onshore, Offshore and Solar & Batteries.
The role involves engaging with multiple internal and external stakeholders, to develop and implement effective Health & Safety solutions, ensuring clear communication towards stakeholders and internally in the H&S organisation, and completing related administrative tasks behind it.
The role will also include some of the following key tasks:
* Manage and lead a team of Health & Safety specialists
* Ensure implementation and compliance to statuary obligations, laws and other requirements
* Coach, form and maintain a performing team and provide a home for Health & Safety specialists
* Manage and align H&S budgets within asset projects and ensure competent staffing of the projects
* Support on standardisation of H&S standards and translate Group initiatives into concrete actions
* Help to establish a H&S strategy and support the development of our annual plans
* Steer and manage H&S reporting towards the line and customers
* Manage investigations and close-out of accidents/incidents/ Non-conformities within Asset Projects
* Being a people manager who develops our specialists towards the required performance and stakeholder satisfaction
* Promote a proactive Health and Safety Culture
* Promote continual improvement within the IS0 45001 framework
Location
The role is hybrid, flexibility is required to work from the office and the opportunity to work from home and it requires occasional travel to Vattenfall sites, projects and suppliers.
The main office shall be Hamburg (Germany), Solna (Sweden) or Kolding (Denmark).
Travel days to the following examples of sites must be expected:
* Offshore (but very seldom)
* Onshore locations in the Netherlands, Germany, UK and Sweden
* Project locations in Germany and the Netherlands for Offshore
* Contractor, Suppliers and supply chain development visits

Experience:
* Managerial experience in leading people and forming performing teams
* Strong communication and influencing skills with a customer focused mindset
* Experience in Health & Safety roles within heavy industries, as example offshore wind, other renewable energy sectors, marine, oil & gas or civil construction.
* Experience with HS Contractor Management
Skills and Certification;
* Minimum 5 years of experience within the field of Health and Safety
* Minimum 2 years of experience in managerial positions as a leader
* Academic degree in a relevant field (minimum Bachelor of Science)
* H&S education or relevant certifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, Auditor, Incident Investigator, Safety Coordinator).
* Different educational backgrounds are welcome as long as Health and Safety has been an integral part of the experience
* Excellent English communication skills written and spoken (additional languages such as German, Dutch, Swedish or Danish would be beneficial)
* ISO standards experience and knowledge
* Knowledge about applicable legislative H&S frameworks within Europe and UK
* Policy, goals and target setting
* Strong stakeholder and costumer management
* Audits and inspection experience
