Join us as a Intern - Lithium-Ion Battery Simulation and Modeling Research (m/f/d) Your mission Simulate the Battery Pack performance (charge/discharge, cycling) based on equivalent circuit model, considering intrinsic cell-to-cell variations of SOC, capacity, resistance, temperature, swelling and capacity fading rates. Simulate a battery pack with some certain faults, such as internal short circuit. Simulate battery performance at a cold temperature, considering inconsistencies between surface SOC and average SOC. Developing codes for battery energy storage system simulations, considering trade-offs between accuracy and computational complexity for battery models. Using the battery model for energy management control, analyze and evaluate the most important stress factors of the different applications and their impact on lifetime Identify the most demanding load profile and the least demanding load profile in terms of BESS lifetime. Your areas of expertise Currently enrolled as a Master or Phd student in either energy storage, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, electrochemistry, or any related field. Familiar about the electrochemical or equivalent circuit model for batteries, have strong programming skill using matlab/simulink or python. Having research experiences in the fields of battery models or battery management systems. Fluent in written and spoken English (working language). German/Chinese language skills are a plus.
