Position Summary This position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of effective Environmental, Health and Safety compliance programs for all locations and activities in EMEA for office, laboratory and field-based teams. This role will ensure effective oversight of compliance with local laws and regulations. It also covers the Facilities aspects on the EMEA sites ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of a company's facilities. The role will drive best practice and high-quality support to ensure people, business and customers are safe, trained and informed in all best practises with Bio-Techne. In this combined Facilities and EHS Manager role, the individual must have a strong understanding of both EHS and facilities management concepts and be able to efficiently and effectively manage all aspects of a company's facilities within a safe and sustainable environment for office, laboratory and field-based teams. Specialist manufacturing sites will require the role to support the technical specialists on site to ensure compliance at the local level. The position is accountable ensuring stakeholders maintain a high standard and demonstrating high level of competency and compliance across EMEA. Essential Functions - Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations across all sites and field-based teams in EMEA - Coach, inspire, support, and motivate; drive high performance and employee engagement with all EHS aspects in their roles. - Drive best practice and ensure all site leaders have support for compliance and regulations to be enforced locally. - Develop and maintain environmental health and safety (EHS) policies and procedures for the company. - Act as a key stakeholder and provide oversight to ensure compliance with local regulations is met. - As required support managers to onboard new employees with correct training materials, remote or site based to always remain safe in their roles - Establish goals for each site for ESG improvements and be responsible for reviews ensuring stakeholders are aware of EMEA requirements. - Ensure efficient and consistent support by addressing any areas of adverse performance or conduct in line with Company policy, local regulations and compliance. - Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards across all areas of the business, including facilities, equipment, and operations. - Maintain accurate records of building maintenance and repairs - Coordinate with vendors and contractors for building repairs, renovations, and other projects to support the management of building systems including BMS, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, Fire and security systems. - Develop and execute a preventative maintenance program for all company facilities - Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans and procedures that cover both facility-specific and EHS-related emergencies. - Manage facility-related finances, including budget planning and expense tracking for the sites in EMEA to support the business requirements and growth. - Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities and take appropriate measures to correct any issues found. - Support the ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 integrated management system and audits to ensure Bio-Techne is compliant with the standards as well as the legal aspects of the business. - Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventative actions. - Connect with the Global teams EHS/Facilities to ensure ESG and corporate alignment where possible. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: - Fluent English and German - Min. 5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety management - In-depth knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations and best practices - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field preferred - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Detail-oriented and highly organized - Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously - Ability and willingness to travel as necessary - Travel up to 50% Skills required/desired: - Expertise in life science lab support - Conscientious, articulate, and possesses excellent presentation and teaching skills - A commitment to total customer satisfaction - Strong organisational and administration skills - Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire employees and contractors - Comfortable working with regulatory agencies and auditors.
