Your responsibilities: - Ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of a genomics laboratory in Konstanz, Germany - Leading and developing a team of approx. 35 FTEs, ensuring the lab operates to the required standards in-line with the QMS - Hiring, motivating, developing and retaining excellent managers and employees within your business - Taking accountability for the P&L of the business unit and managing costs in-line with the budget for the financial year - Developing methods to reduce cost, increase profitability and improve operations efficiency & turnaround times to meet best industry standards in all activities - Working with the senior team to ensure results are being reported correctly and in a timely manner - Being a technical expert for the business and our customers - Working closely with sales and translate customers' requirements into the operations (e.g. new method development, Service Level performance) - Ensuring all equipment is maintained and serviced to the correct standard so it is safe to operate and fully calibrated - Ensuring that process parameters are respected; issuing deviation reports, pinpointing the root causes, and taking preventive actions to enhance the process efficiency and product quality Your profile: - Academic education (at least university Bachelor level) with very good grades in science/related field is required - Minimum of 2 years' experience in a managerial role with team management responsibility and a focus on production, re-engineering and industrialization - An understanding of genotyping, legislative requirements and industry standards is preferable - Good working knowledge of laboratories with a clear understanding of the key elements such a business involves - Hands-on, diligent, a 'doer' with a common sense approach - Able to build and structure business plans, submissions and initiatives Do you enjoy being part of a great team and enriching it with your skills?
