As a Supply Chain Manager with the added responsibility of Trade Compliance, you will be responsible for efficiently coordinating and managing all supply chain processes, including inventory management, logistics, shipping and purchasing, to ensure the on-time delivery of our products worldwide. They play a key role in the global supply chain, ensuring compliance with all international trade and customs regulations. In addition, the logistics/shipping and purchasing departments report directly to you, which gives you a central role in the management and optimization of the entire supply chain for the Friedberg site.
Supply Chain
- Responsibility for the planning, coordination and optimization of supply chain processes along the entire value chain.
- Management of the logistics/shipping and purchasing departments to ensure efficient and flexible management of the entire supply chain.
- Ensure efficient inventory management, both for raw materials and finished products, taking into account the requirements of all value streams.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocks.
- Development and implementation of best practices to improve logistics processes (air freight, sea freight, land transport).
- Collaborate with internal departments (production, sales) and external partners (carriers, suppliers, warehouses) to maximize supply chain efficiency and flexibility. Identification and implementation of measures for cost optimization and risk minimization within the supply chain.
Trade Compliance
- Ensuring compliance with international trade and customs regulations (e.g. export and import regulations, dual-use goods, etc.).
- Advising and training internal stakeholders on relevant regulations and requirements of export and import operations.
- Monitoring of documentation and customs clearance (preparation and verification of certificates of origin, customs declarations, export documents).
- Working closely with customs authorities, freight forwarders and international partners to ensure compliance for cross-border deliveries.
- Oversee the implementation and adherence to internal compliance policies and processes in the global supply chain.
- Conducting regular audits and risk analyses in the area of customs and export regulations.
Reporting & Analysis
- Regular preparation of reports and analyses on the performance of the supply chain and trade compliance as well as their potential for improvement.
- Identification of risks and bottlenecks in the supply chain and development of appropriate solutions.
- Supporting management in the strategic development of supply chain and compliance strategies.
What will make you successful
- Degree in logistics, business administration, industrial engineering or a comparable field.
- Several years of professional experience in supply chain management, preferably in an international industrial company.
- Experience in customs and export clearance as well as in-depth knowledge of international trade regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of inventory optimization and coordination in a complex production environment.
- Experience in handling air freight, sea freight and other types of international transport.
- Strong analytical skills as well as a solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English (written and spoken).
- Team-oriented way of working and high problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of common supply chain management systems (e.g. SAP, ERP) and customs software.
