For our Research department in Marburg, we are looking for a Senior Biostatistician (m/f/x) R-247809 Fulltime / permanent / tariff The Opportunity We have an opportunity available for a Senior Research Statistician to join our Research Data Science team. You will provide scientific expertise in the area of biostatistics for a broad array of applications in pre-clinical research, focusing on the design, conduct and analysis of in vivo, in vitro and observational studies with research aims including indication selection, drug design and lead candidate selection, assay development and validation, mechanism of action, establishment of animal models, efficacy and safety, and comparison of in-house and competitor drug candidates. You will work closely with the Global Research Data Science group members and other CSL colleagues to set and deliver on project objectives and to determine appropriate data generation, processing, and analysis strategies. You will also work alongside CSL’s external collaborators to make recommendations on study design, execution and data analysis. The Role Oversee and provide support in statistical methodology for experimental design, data analysis, interpretation of results, report generation and other documentation for pre-clinical aims and studies Review statistical planning and methodology of research proposals from external collaborators Develop statistical pipelines tailored to specific aims including apps for recurring analyses designed for non-statistician users Contribute to innovation in statistical methodology applied to pre-clinical research by actively exploring and implementing new methods Encourage the implementation and use of best practice guidelines (e.g. ARRIVE, RIPOSTE, STROBE and internal guidelines) on the design, data analysis and reporting of in vivo, in vitro and non-interventional studies Conduct statistical training through documentation, presentations and working closely with scientific groups for CSL R&D staff to raise awareness of statistical aspects and regulatory requirements in R&D Contribute to establishment and maintenance of Data Science resources on-site Your Skills and Experience: MSc in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics or similar field (PhD is a plus) 3 years relevant expertise in academic or industrial environment Record of quality scientific output in collaboration with life scientists demonstrated by presentation and publication of scientific work or actual project work experience Strong programming skills in R and RShiny Advanced computer skills in high-level programming languages, and experience working with both open-source and commercial statistical software. Knowledge of, and experience in biology will also be advantageous.
