Job Description
1. Formulate and execute financial strategies to bolster the branch's growth objectives and enhance financial performance.
2. Lead the implementation of the organization's ERP system, managing all facets of the project to align with organizational objectives and requirements.
3. Lead post-merger integration initiatives pertaining to finance and accounting functions, collaborating with stakeholders from acquired entities to synchronize processes and systems with corporate standards.
4. Supervise the preparation of financial reports for both management and regulatory purposes.
5. Analyze financial data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
6. Direct the branch's budgeting and forecasting processes, contributing to the development of accurate and attainable financial plans.
7. Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements in Germany.
8. Offer strategic financial advice to the executive leadership team, contributing to decision-making and risk management.
9. Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies.
10. Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes impacting the branch's financial operations in Germany.
The Successful Applicant
1. Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; an MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
2. Demonstrated experience in financial management, including a minimum of 5 years in a CFO role.
3. In-depth understanding of German accounting principles and statutory reporting requirements.
4. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data to inform strategic decision-making.
5. Extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
7. Proficient in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
8. Experience in a multinational environment or with international financial operations is desirable.
9. Fluency in German and English languages is required; additional languages are advantageous.
10. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
