About Operations Engineering Division (OED): OED is the central team that supports all Business Unit Design and Development teams, and other organizations including Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Foundry Operations, and Test. OED provides a platform for managing all process technology and PDK development for both Internal and External Foundry processes. This strong and highly qualified team (mostly MS / PhD) adds strength in developing Test Technology, Foundry Operations, and Yield management. The team’s world-class contributions lead to aggressive NPI strategies and continual cost and gross margin improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Foundry Technical Manager will create and drive benchmark performance across Probe / Final Test yield, Quality, Cost optimization, Change control, New Product Introductions (NPI), etc.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in end-to-end fab processing, including a deep understanding of fab modules, design / process interactions and work cross-functionally within Renesas (Design, Yield engineering, Product Engineering, Quality, Reliability, Supply Chain, Sourcing, etc.) in pursuit of Foundry performance excellence.
* Benchmarking and driving to industry-leading Probe / Final test yields by collaborating with foundry yield team and cross-functional teams.
* Containing Quality issues within the fab walls and/or feed forwarding Quality concerns for controlled downstream monitoring.
* Manage foundry QTR (Quarterly Technical Review) and provide feedback to QBR (Quarterly Business Review).
* Quality excursions and Customer RMAs: Partner with Foundry Quality and cross-functional teams to lead root cause identification, material disposition, and corrective action identification. Successful corrective action fixes will ensure no repeats of similar types of issues and strive to catch excursions at/closest to the point of origin. Partner with Foundry Quality and cross-functional team to audit fabs towards benchmark performance. Zero defect/escape mindset.
* NPI execution: Partner with Foundry Technology to ensure we have the right DRC checks including a clear understanding of process waivers for NPIs. Partner with Design and Foundry Technology to feedback design/process marginalities (DFM). Drive and lead Fab transfer projects to ensure quality, yield, and process benchmarks.
* Change control management: Partner with Foundry Quality to assess, qualify, and roll over process changes. Work with cross-functional teams to assess and track foundry processes and waivers.
* Expert Foundry process leader: Depth and breadth across process modules. Drive Continuous improvement towards better Quality, Cost, Cycle time, etc. End-to-end fab processing experience, including a deep understanding of critical module parameters and design/process interaction. Hands-on experience taking a newly introduced technology/product to benchmark process performance.
* Others: Customer obsessed - partner with Supply Chain, Foundry Quality, and cross-functional team to ensure a Quality event doesn’t impact customer needs. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Cost-efficient mindset to minimize foundry scrap. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
