The »Audio and Media Technologies« division at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS in Erlangen develops world-class audio and speech processing technology and is one of the world's largest organizations in this field. Well-known compression methods such as MP3 and the AAC family were developed at IIS. More than 300 engineers and scientists drive state-of-the-art innovation. Our customers include all of the world's leading technology companies. As a group leader, you will make a significant contribution to the success of our »Audio and Media Technologies« division.

What you will do
* Lead an established research group comprised of scientific engineering professionals and student employees
* Collaborate with an experienced team to shape the strategic direction of the group
* Develop a technology and research roadmap leveraging both classic signal processing and AI methods
* Align the roadmap with the strategy of the division »Audio and Media Technologies«
* Spearhead the transformation of these technologies into market-ready software products
* Initiate and lead projects in partnership with both industry and public funding agencies
* Cultivate strong networks with customers and collaboration partners
What you bring to the table
* Completed scientific university degree in engineering or natural sciences, technical computer science, mathematics, or a comparable qualification
* Very good interpersonal and communication skills, and a genuine passion for fostering team success along with leadership and development
* Proven experience in team coordination in a fast-paced, agile environment with multiple concurrent projects
* Proficient in project management with proven experience in leading R&D projects
* Advanced knowledge in audio signal processing
* Customer orientation and strong interest in acquisition
* Proficient in English, good knowledge of German is beneficial

The position is initially limited with the aim for subsequent extension. The weekly working time is 39 hours.
