Role description:
As a Cost Manager, you will be responsible for cost control and financial management of construction projects. You will work closely with various teams to ensure that projects are completed within budget and in accordance with financial requirements. You will have opportunities to advance into senior roles in project management or specialized cost management areas. Additionally, there are opportunities for international projects and the development of expertise in cost control and financial management of construction projects.
Role accountabilities:
1. Develop, monitor, and update cost plans and budgets for construction projects
2. Analyze cost forecasts, variances, and risks, and develop measures to achieve cost savings
3. Evaluate contracts, bids, and compensation structures related to construction activities
4. Collaborate closely with project management to integrate cost aspects and ensure the financial performance of projects
5. Prepare financial reports, cost analysis, and recommendations for management
6. Monitor payments, invoices, and financial agreements with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
7. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in project execution
Qualifications & Experience:
8. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
9. Demonstrated experience in cost control and financial management of construction projects, preferably in the construction industry or engineering sector
10. Proficiency in cost management software and MS Excel
11. Negotiation skills, analytical abilities, and a strong understanding of financial aspects of construction projects
12. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and internal teams
13. Certification or membership in relevant professional associations such as the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is advantageous
14. Strong German and English language proficiency
