Summary This position is located at MWR Marketing in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Responsibilities Works under the general supervision of the Marketing Director, Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (DFMWR). Designs and maintains the DFMWR website and social media identities. Using industry-standard web software, revamps and maintains a multi-page website, integrating social media, as authorized in DoD and Army guidance. Acts as liaison with customers for development of new information to the website. Prepares and designs web based information and other communication media suitable for marketing purposes. Develops complex themes through visual materials. Develops concepts for publicity, promotion, marketing and print, to meet DFMWR objectives. Edits and develops a wide variety of media productions to include music and visual images to support promotional strategies and social media activities and subsequent advancements. Identifies, develops and supports new trends in visual media technology such as web applications, graphic design tools, streaming media and digital video. Uses a wide variety of art media and computer graphic systems to develop new design formats. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications At least one year experience in website and graphics design/development, including the application of the concepts, principles and practices in website marketing, using illustration and communication concepts, principles and practices to conceive, plan and execute work assignments. Skill in interpersonal relationships. Must have some marketing and communications experience, with a strong focus on Web 2.0 technologies. Must have the ability to organize and edit written material to make it meaningful to a wide array of audiences. Desirable: An undergraduate degree in web design/development, or related field, is highly desirable. Knowledge of regulations governing public websites, to include Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which requires federal agencies to make electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities. Highly Qualifying Criteria: - Superior knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator), Acrobat, and video editing software. - Experience in design, creation and production of visual graphic communications for briefings, posters, websites, digital movies, and training material used in a variety of media formats including prints, slides, overhead transparencies, video, and computer display. - Knowledge of photography/videography. - Knowledge of the SCALA content management system and the ability to manage and facilitate the system to include maintaining and troubleshooting outdoor marquees and other associated digital display hardware. - Capable of producing high quality work in independent, self-driven environments, as well as in collaboratively driven team environments with flexibility to work in different positions within the department. - Capable of working in high volume graphics operations to establish priorities and meet deadlines. - Knowledge of and ability to use proper grammar, spelling and standard graphics style. - Ability to communicate effectively with others. - Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Applicants meeting the highly qualifying criteria will be forwarded to management for consideration first.
