Manager - Network WAN Solutions (all genders)

Common accountabilities:
1. Accountable for the budget, performance and results of a medium-sized team. Influences the resource, budget and policy planning and sets concrete development plans for the team members.
2. Has a mid/long-term vision of the activity and the business, influences the department's strategy based on a broad understanding of the environment. Exposed to complex decision making.
3. Works with a high level of autonomy, based on management directions, escalating issues only when necessary.
Specific accountabilities:
4. Manage infrastructure components such as various network based platform components. The Platform Engineering role designs, builds and maintains the platforms which form the base for the solutions and services. The Platform Engineer is highly involved in the shift from legacy based environments to cloud based solutions and combines former Network Engineer and System Administration roles. Platform engineering teams aim to build tooling and infrastructure that increases engineering productivity.
5. Lead, motivate, coach and develop team members – drive a culture of strong staff engagement, high performance and foster continuous improvement as an incremental piece of the daily work.
6. Design, deliver and implement the global wide area network foundation services technology solutions according to developed standards and business needs particularly achieving agility and time to market requirements, with optimized and shortest lead time to connect and according to infrastructure demand forecast.
7. Drive, develop and deliver the full automation of the WAN network services to enable a shift to a software defined network paradigm.
8. Manage and maintain the internal/external foundation services technology solutions infrastructure components to ensure compliance, business efficiency, flexibility and increase the value chain.
9. Provide support in the incident and problem management process with respect all the internal/external foundation services technology solutions related issues.
10. Understand customers’ (internal/external) needs and translate them into services.

Who are we looking for? No one less than you:
18. A university degree in computer science or a related field.
19. Proven leadership and management skills.
20. Ability to lead a team, empower staff, facilitate development discussions, build relationships, and manage constraints.
21. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in both written and spoken English.
22. Hands-on experience with network platforms and tools.
23. Proficiency in the software development cycle, including CI/CD, Jenkins pipeline, Python/shell scripting, and infrastructure development tools like Terraform/Ansible. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git/Bitbucket.
24. Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
25. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
26. Project management experience.
27. Financial and business acumen.
28. At least 5 years of experience in a similar role or significant long-term experience in coordination or project management within a large international environment.
