Bench Scientist - Therapeutic Antibodies (all genders)
Bayer Pharmaceuticals is looking for a Bench Scientist Therapeutic Antibodies (all genders) to join our Therapeutic Antibodies team within Drug Discovery Science in Wuppertal. In this role, you will contribute to the development of therapeutic antibodies and biologics by optimizing, producing, and characterizing antibody candidates using cutting-edge technologies and automation. Your work will be embedded in an environment utilizing multiple therapeutic modalities. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* You contribute to antibody and biologics drug development as a member of a team responsible for high-throughput antibody optimization and production
* You run automated antibody cloning, expression, purification, and characterization workflows
* You develop, optimize, and establish new assays, processes, and methods in the workflow
* You contribute to the further development of streamlined processes for antibody and biologics optimization, production, and characterization
* You are responsible for data handling of complex multi-parameter data sets using commercial and proprietary tools for data mining, compound
selection, and process improvement
WHO YOU ARE
* You hold a PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field, or have an equivalent in-depth relevant professional experience (e.g., in
combination with a master’s degree)
* You are inspired by modulating biological processes using antibodies or biologics in general
* You are passionate about using technology and, in particular, automation to enable drug development
* You have a track record in using and setting up pipetting robots in an academic or industrial setting
* You enjoy and are experienced in working with, analyzing, and reporting complex data sets using state-of-the-art software tools and scripting
languages
* You have hands-on experience will all parts of an antibody production workflow (molecular biology, cell culture, protein purification, ELISA, FACS)
* You enjoy working in a cross-functional team, have good communication and presentation skills, and are inspired by sharing responsibility over a
workflow in a self-organized setup
* You have a high customer/partner orientation, and you are solution-driven
* Your fluent English (spoken and written) rounds off your profile.
This is a fixed-term contract for 24 months.
