Your Role
The Data Director is responsible for overseeing the analytics strategy and insights across client engagements. This role involves leading efforts to inform, measure, and optimize marketing campaigns across various channels. The Director will lead a team of analysts, collaborate with cross-functional agency leaders, and engage directly with senior clients to drive data-driven decision-making and achieve exceptional results.
Your Responsibilities
1. Identify, scope, propose, and direct the application of analytical services for RAPP clients.
2. Design and recommend analytic methodologies and approaches to meet client goals.
3. Develop phased roadmaps to enhance clients' analytical sophistication over time.
4. Lead a team of analytics professionals to:
- Analyze quantitative data to understand customer profiles, segments, and behaviors for business and marketing decisions.
- Inform business rules for dynamic communication strategies through customer segmentation, behavioral patterns, and trigger events.
- Establish meaningful KPIs, define learning agendas, and create comprehensive measurement, data, and attribution plans.
- Provide insightful reporting, analyze outcomes, and offer actionable recommendations.
5. Develop predictive analytic solutions and apply machine learning and AI to support the analytics strategy.
6. Author POVs and other intellectual properties on recent trends in marketing analytics and data-driven marketing.
7. Codify best practices, create case studies, share methodologies, and define new standards in collaboration with the RAPP network team.
8. Participate in new business pitches, including team leadership, content creation, and in-room presentations.
9. Oversee staff development plans, provide feedback, performance evaluations, coaching, and training for direct reports.
Your Experience
10. 7+ years in marketing analytics, with at least 3 years in an advertising/marketing agency.
11. Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
12. 3+ years managing analytics professionals; experience with multi-location and offshore teams is a plus.
13. Extensive experience in digital analytics (site analytics, social, online, etc.).
14. In-depth knowledge of database marketing principles and database structures.
15. Proficiency in statistical analysis, marketing mathematical rigor, test-and-learn plans, and ROI.
16. Strong understanding of direct marketing principles and best-in-class methodologies.
17. Working knowledge of digital measurement technologies (tagging, web services, digital tools, etc.).
18. Proven analytical skills, including data interpretation and translation into actionable insights.
19. Excellent communication, presentation, storytelling, and management skills with a track record of talent development.
