Votre mission :
Company Overview:
Join our dynamic and innovative technology team as we lead the transformation of the WAN infrastructure for the European Commission. This exciting migration project aims to modernize and optimize the Commission’s wide-area network (WAN), enhancing performance, security, and scalability across all locations. We are focused on implementing next-generation networking solutions, including SD-WAN and cloud technologies, to provide a robust, efficient, and future-proof network infrastructure for the Commission’s operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* WAN Network Strategy & Leadership: Lead the strategic planning and execution of the WAN transformation project, overseeing the migration from legacy network technologies to modern, virtualized, and cloud-based WAN solutions. Ensure that the network infrastructure meets the high standards of performance, security, and scalability required by the European Commission.
* Operational Excellence: Manage the daily operations of the WAN infrastructure, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). This includes optimizing network routing, traffic management, and bandwidth distribution to support mission-critical applications and services across the Commission's network.
* Innovation & Automation in Network Operations: Drive the introduction of automation to streamline WAN configuration management, provisioning, and fault resolution processes. Enhance operational efficiency and minimize network downtime through innovative automation solutions.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal IT, network engineering, and infrastructure teams to design, implement, and optimize new WAN architectures. Work closely with business stakeholders to align network infrastructure with organizational needs and technological goals.
* Network Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and improve WAN performance, focusing on reducing latency, increasing throughput, and ensuring reliability across remote sites and various Commission locations. Lead the adoption of cutting-edge WAN optimization technologies to ensure a high-quality user experience.
* Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate and deploy new WAN technologies. Manage project timelines and resources, ensuring the network migration aligns with the European Commission’s objectives and is completed on time.
* Reporting & Monitoring: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on the progress of the WAN migration project. Use monitoring tools to track network performance, identify potential issues, and proactively implement solutions to maintain high standards of network quality and availability.
* Agile Methodology: As Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining and prioritizing project backlogs, ensuring clear communication between technical teams and stakeholders, and ensuring iterative progress through sprints. You will work closely with Scrum Masters and development teams to ensure the network migration is broken down into manageable tasks, and key milestones are reached on time. Regular sprint reviews and retrospectives will be essential to ensure continuous improvement and adaptation to any changes in scope or business requirements.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in managing large-scale WAN infrastructure projects, particularly in migration or modernization efforts for large organizations or government entities.
* Strong expertise in WAN technologies such as MPLS, SD-WAN, VPN, and cloud-based networking solutions.
* In-depth knowledge of network protocols, IP addressing, routing, traffic management, and Quality of Service (QoS) in a wide-area network environment.
* Experience with automating network operations, including configuration management, provisioning, and performance monitoring.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and communicate technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies, with hands-on experience as a Product Owner, managing project backlogs, sprint planning, and facilitating communication between stakeholders and development teams.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to lead high-performing teams.
* Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management abilities, with a focus on delivering results and maintaining transparency.
* Innovative, forward-thinking approach with a focus on continuous improvement and staying ahead of emerging network technologies.
