Purpose
Continuously conducts research and defines technology strategy for his area of responsibility (e.g. APP, FTW, A&G or Materials) according to business needs in close alignment with internal stakeholders, external partners and Senior Manager Creation Technologies.
Key Accountabilities
* Provides technology expertise to Manager Creation Technologies and levels below
* Researches, evaluates and benchmarks innovative 3D applications/technologies in his area of responsibility (e.g. APP) and aligns the related findings with the Director Creation technologies
* Continuously develops his expertise by visiting fairs, conferences, using the internet and building networks with external technology experts
* Creates and continuously improves an industry leading 3D technology set up within his area of responsibility (e.g. APP) within the adidas Group
* Develops innovative improvement strategies & helps to define process visions supported by 3D technology
* Defines and continuously updates 3D technology implementation roadmap for the adidas Group according to business needs in his area of responsibility
* Uses his sound product creation process knowledge to initiate and drive implementation of business relevant 3D technology innovations
* Translates complicated technological facts into business opportunities
* Communicates and presents 3D technology opportunities to secure buy in from business stakeholders
* Supports budget allocation decisions by influencing prioritization of technology innovations according to business benefits
* Manages the interfaces with external business partners by representing the adidas Group and its strategies and translating these in an understandable manner to the external technology providers
* Communicates and presents new 3D technology opportunities process technologies to internal interfaces to ensure the technology development meets customers’ expectations
* Set strategy for technical trainings for PjM, Design, Marketing, LO’s and vendors to ensure all involved teams can work effectively with newly implemented and existing applications
* Identify and addresses opportunities for intellectual property safeguarding and support IP safeguarding implementation
* Establishes advanced working relationships and a people’s network with internal and external technology experts in his area of responsibility
* Earns reputation and recognition as an expert for relevant 3D applications for either APP, FTW, A&G or virtual materials within the adidas Group
* People Management:
* Build the appropriate structure to be able to manage the respective organization effectively, identify and develop the future talents and create realistic succession scenarios for key positions.
* Ensure appropriate leadership skills are present at every level through creating a motivational and supportive work environment in which employees are coached, trained and provided with career opportunities through development.
* Allocate the different topics and work streams to the respective teams and employees considering experience, complexity, workload and organizational efficiency.
* Continuously monitor and evaluate team workload and organizational efficiency with the support of systems, data and analysis and team feedback and make appropriate changes in order to meet business needs.
* Provide team members/direct reports with clear direction and targets that are aligned with business needs and Legal objectives.
Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience
* Management skills preferred
* Ability to translate complex technical circumstances into business relevant facts
* Excellent software knowledge/skills (CAD software, virtual reality, graphic software, 3D Design)
* Robust product creation & virtualization process knowledge (pattern knowledge is a plus)
* General affinity for IT systems & workflows (programming knowledge is a plus)
* Advanced presentation skills
* Fluent English
Qualifications
1. University Degree or comparable education in industrial design, mechanical engineering, multimedia art, media informatics, communication design and/ or computer graphics
2. Minimum of 6 years related work experience
3. First experience in people management
