Your mission Shape the Future of Space & Mobility UNIO is revolutionizing mobility with seamless space-based connectivity. We are scaling an early-stage venture at the forefront of SpaceTech and currently seeking a Cellular Wireless Expert to join us from April 2025. You will lead the development of an end-to-end Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) – Terrestrial Network (TN) communications solution for commercial and dual-use land mobility applications. Directly reporting to the CTO, You will work cross-functionally across the technical and commercial teams. Your scope of activities : Act as the primary point of contact for all topics related to cellular wireless solutions development and deployment across our customer ecosystem while ensuring stakeholder alignment on objectives, timelines and deliverables; Architect and develop a hybrid satellite-terrestrial (i.e., NTN-TN) communication solution for mobility use cases, ensuring seamless interoperability; Translate and integrate 3GPP standards Release 17 NTN specifications into wireless system architectures; Design and optimize radio access (RAN), core and transport network components supporting adaptive, low-latency and high throughput ubiquitous connectivity; Implement networking strategies for LEO/MEO/GEO satellite constellations with 5G/LTE/RedCap cellular networks; Conduct lab and field testing, including OTA (Over-The-Air) and real-world drive testing for NTN-TN interoperability. Your profile Master's or Ph.D. in Wireless Communications, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or related field; At least 7 years’ experience in wireless systems engineering, particularly in cellular and satellite communications within the mobility sector; Deep understanding of 3GPP standards, including Release 17 NTN specifications and cellular protocols (5G NR, LTE, NB-IoT); Expertise in radio access networks (RAN), core networks (EPC, 5GC) and transport networks; Strong knowledge of RF communications, beamforming, MIMO, waveform design and link budget analyses for both terrestrial and satellite links; Fluency in MatLab, Python, C++ and/or other simulation tools for wireless system modeling; Strong communication and presentation skills; Solid ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment; Fluent in German and English; Currently based in Munich (or soon to be relocating to).
