About the role BIMM University Berlin is looking for acting lecturers as well as industry experts who may be new to teaching to work on a freelance basis on the BA Acting for Stage, Screen and Digital Media. Opportunities are available for regular teaching starting September 2025, as well as covering teaching/deputising and guest lecturing on an ad hoc basis. Our "Acting for Stage, Screen and Digital Media" degree teaches a broad range of specialist skills, and we are looking for new members to join our friendly team as the course expands. The University provides internal training and professional development for all lecturers, especially those new to teaching. If you have a graduate or postgraduate qualification then this will be advantageous, but this is not a prerequisite. What You'll Do: • Design and deliver engaging and comprehensive acting lessons. • Provide hands-on specialist training to students. • Contribute towards assessment and the marking of student work, providing constructive feedback • Stay updated with industry trends and integrate these into the curriculum. • Mentor and support students, fostering their professional growth. • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the course content. What You'll Bring: • A graduate or postgraduate qualification in acting, directing or another performance related subject • A graduate or postgraduate qualification in education is advantageous but not essential. • Significant teaching experience (at the higher education level is preferred but not essential). • Significant industry experience in acting, directing or performance. • Strong communication and organisational skills. • A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. • A flexible approach to work. Contractual Hours : Freelance, variable hours depending on subject area and student numbers.
