What do you contribute?
For this position, a highly committed individual with leadership experience is essential. In your role as Head of Data Management in Engineering of Rolling Stock you will be responsible for the end-to-end product data management. This includes an efficient and smooth data management process, qualification to control and ensure data consistency as well as respective tool expertise such as "Team Center" for Engineering in Rolling Stock. Besides engineering your partners are along the whole value chain.
* You identify synergy as well as optimization potentials with Lean / Agile working methods for the handling of engineering data and provision for parties in the Product Live Cycle process (PLM). In doing so, you will work with internal and external partners, such as manufacturing, purchasing, logistics, customers, etc. The current tool primarily used is SAP PLM.
* You will be in charge of the engineering department with employees in Erlangen and Krefeld, as well as employees at European locations (e.g. Prague) for the topics of product data management.
* Your team and you are the contact person (f/m/d) within the engineering department for consulting, problem solving and information exchange on PLM tool related issues.
* In addition, you will continuously drive the strategic further development of tool and process landscape across organizations in Engineering and with SMO IT and implement the changes in the respective user areas in a targeted manner.
* A core task is the implementation of the PLM tool Teamcenter for SMO Rolling Stock Engineering in terms of product data management.
* You represent the interests of the stakeholders in engineering, ensure process and method requirements in the IT project during tool development and monitor the fulfillment and implementation of these requirements.
What do you bring along?
* You have completed a master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or industrial engineering.
* You have many years of professional experience in engineering or in the development of complex products such as rail vehicles, aero, ship or plant engineering.
* You are familiar with interfaces between IT, development and production.
* Furthermore, you bring knowledge and experience in PLM tools and processes, ideally in Teamcenter.
* You have already gained initial experience as a disciplinary manager and can inspire and encourage employees.
* You are business fluent in English and ideally in German.
