We are seeking a scientifically driven and visionary Associate Director to lead our Computational Biology team with a focus on Cardio-Renal-Metabolic (CRM) diseases. This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape computational innovation in drug discovery and to make a meaningful impact on patients’ lives. You'll manage a experienced, well established team of computational biologists, providing mentorship, strategic guidance and technical expertise.
As Associate Director, you will collaborate closely with CRM therapeutic area scientists to identify novel drug targets and advance them through the drug discovery pipeline by harnessing large-scale data and cutting-edge computational methods. You will be an integral part of the growing Computational Innovation department, driving strategic initiatives that support the development of transformative therapies.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead and manage a team of highly skilled computational biologists, fostering a culture of scientific excellence, collaboration, and innovation .
• Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and career development opportunities for team members.
•Drive the implementation of state-of-the-art computational biology approaches for target and/or biomarker discovery, with a strong emphasis on CRM indications.
•Establish and maintain high standards for data analysis, integrity, and reproducibility across all projects.
•Act as a bridge between computational teams and broader stakeholders by translating complex computational data into clear, actionable insights that support data-driven decision-making.
Your Expereince
•Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, with substantial post study experience in applying computational sciences to drug discovery.
•Proven leadership experience in line management (at least 2/3 years), with the ability to efficiently plan, allocate, and oversee team resources.
• A strong track record of scientific and pharmaceutical achievements, within the field of CRM diseases.
•Demonstrated expertise in target identification and/or biomarker discovery using computational approaches.
•Outstanding communication skills with the ability to convey sophisticated concepts to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
•Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with experience mentoring junior scientists and fostering innovation in multidisciplinary environments.
