TheSenior IP Counsel (Biochemical Assays, Dyes, Reagents, and ImagingTechnologies) is responsible for developing and implementing an IPstrategy for our portfolio of Biochemical Assays, Dyes, Reagents,and Imaging Technologies. This role involves preparing (mainlyusing outside counsel), maintaining, defending, and enforcingintellectual property rights for the Life Science ResearchDivision. The position significantly impacts the organization byactively participating in product definition and development basedon competitive intelligence, and by conducting due diligence forthe acquisition of new companies to strengthen market position anddefend against third party challenges.
Thisposition reports to the Chief IP Counsel and is part of the IPdepartment located in Wetzlar or Mannheim and will be an on siterole.
In this role, you will havethe opportunity to:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive IP strategy for theLife Science Research Division.
2. Prepare mainly(using outside counsel), maintain, and enforce patents in the areasof assays, dyes, reagents, and related imagingtechnologies.
3. Provide strategic input duringproduct development and definition phases.
4. Conduct competitive intelligence to inform IP strategyand product development.
5. Lead due diligenceefforts during the acquisition of new companies.
6. Defend against potential third party IP challenges toprotect the companys market position.
