The Stem Cell Department in Hamburg is looking for a highly motivated, creative and passionate Research Associate (all genders) Stem Cell Full-time and permanent Responsibilities: Lead drug discovery and safety project(s) scientifically along the pre-clinical drug development process Provide scientific and disease expertise to identify, develop, and validate new technologies for hiPSC-based drug safety/toxicity assessment and/or new drug targets in neuroscience (neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation and psychiatry) Provide proposals and scientific expertise to support advancements of the human iPSC drug discovery and safety platform through novel technologies and project ideas, both internally as well as in collaboration with our partners Maintain an awareness of cutting-edge technological advances and scientific knowledge to improve project performance Line management for a small team of lab scientists Manage multidisciplinary teams and assign their work to meet project timelines and goals Deliver documents, technical reports, and presentations in an accurate and timely manner Represent Evotec’s stem cell drug discovery capabilities internally and externally Qualifications: PhD in Biology or another relevant field Professional experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry is advantageous Profound knowledge and hands-on expertise of maintaining, differentiating, and manipulating human iPSCs for in vitro toxicology applications Professional experience and disease biology understanding relevant to neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation, psychiatry is a strong plus In depth knowledge of human iPSCs (incl. hands-on expertise of maintaining, manipulating and differentiating human iPSC) and other in vitro models in the relevant areas Experience in assay development and adaptation for high throughput screening is ideal High level of motivation, initiative, flexibility and ability to work well in a cross-functional team Excellent communication & people skills and experience in managing and mentoring junior staff Ability to work independently Full proficiency of English language – both written and spoken Our offer: A position within a vigorous and exciting professional environment promoted by an open culture and a spirit of community A diverse, international workforce with a dynamic working environment that fosters creativity, innovations and teamwork 30 days of annual holiday, monthly allowance for public transportation, and in-house canteen Capital forming benefits, flexible working hours, holiday pay, and annual bonus depending on performance To apply, please click on the “ Apply ” button and provide your application documents (CV and cover letter, including earliest possible start date and salary requirements).
