This position supports Mesa’s Sterilization and Disinfection Control division and is responsible to drive revenue growth and expand market share within the assigned territory. The Regional Technical Sales Manager will identify, qualify, and close new business; recapture lost business; and grow existing business through maximizing share of wallet. Core duties and responsibilities include the following: Collaborate with Customer Service partners to develop and execute sales strategies for assigned accounts within the territory designed to secure business in a competitive environment Work with existing customers to expand business and ensure repeat business year over year Prospect, qualify and close opportunities at new accounts Strategize and execute campaigns to recapture lost business Plan and execute technical meetings and presentations at assigned accounts Identify growth accounts and develop short- and long-term strategies to gain mindshare and share of wallet Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts Maintain and update accurate information in CRM Deploy activities ensuring Mesa Labs sterilization and disinfection products are front of mind for new projects and emerging needs Regularly communicate field intelligence to internal partners and sales team Establish and nurture network of product champions to collaborate in development of white papers, publications, and presentations Develop complete understanding of each account, report structures, budget cycles, key customers, and challenges Create and execute business plans Negotiate contracts and pricing Attend industry conferences and tradeshows to prospect for new accounts Be the front-line knowledge resource for sterilization and disinfection biological indicators Share technical knowledge with customers to maintain the relationship and grow the business To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, chemistry, biotechnology, biology or closely related field • Two or more years of sales experience • Technical consultative sales experience preferred • Account management experience a strong plus • Professional presentation skills and ability to network within senior management ranks a strong plus Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: • Experience NetSuite and/or SFDC CRM • Ability to make data driven decisions, develop and execute business plans, and create account management business plans • Highly self-motivated, curious mind that pushes their knowledge boundaries and is driven to learn difficult topics on their own • Ability to create and deliver sales presentations • Must be agile but have strong time management skills and be highly organized and flexible to meet changing priorities • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and be capable of working in a multi-disciplinary team to support a positive work environment • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications • Must have a foundational understanding of microbiology and general knowledge of aseptic methods • Positive interpersonal and advanced communication skills • Ability to travel as needed to support tradeshows, conferences and other corporate events and customers
