To start shortly, we are currently seeking for our Vehicle Development department a Master Thesis student: Integration and Validation of Steering Model for Driving Simulators (M/F/D) The steering system is a key element of the vehicle, as one the main control inputs during day-to-day driving, it must allow the command of the vehicle with confidence and communication of any necessary information back to the driver. Proper development of the steering is therefore crucial to achieving customer expectations and brand DNA. The scope of the thesis will be to validate a steering model and integrate it for offline simulation as well as on the Driver-in-Loop (DiL) Real-Time system, following Hyundai standards and procedures for vehicle development. Literature Study on mechanical steering modeling, EPS control software modeling and steering feel development. Integration of EPS control software in existing steering model. Model validation around current Hardware-in-Loop (HiL) data extraction procedures and real vehicle, to ensure a proper representation of the physical system. Integration into development cycle using optimization software - offline simulation and DiL. Master’s student in Engineering focused course (eg. Automotive, Mechanical, Mechatronics). Very good understanding of physical system modelling, experience in steering modelling preferred. Experience in Matlab / Simulink. Experience in MSc Adams Car (or similar Multi-Body Software) strongly preferred. Knowledge in control theory and controller design strongly preferred. Analytical structured and pragmatic working style Pro-active and self-motivated attitude Good command of English language For questions and details please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Vanney. We look forward to your detailed application via our online recruiting tool.
