Informationen zum Job For around 15 years, the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in the Lower Rhine region of Germany has provided an innovative, interdisciplinary and international education to young minds from around the world. We are looking for a qualified reinforcement for the German-Dutch research project “Eco-Innovations”. Using method triangulation, Europe-wide survey data from 10,071 citizens from 19 countries on energy-related activities and attitudes will be analysed. The aim is to shed light on the role of citizens in stimulating and implementing economic and social innovations that reduce resource use and emissions of harmful substances. Join our team and help strengthen our university at the Faculty of Communication and Environment, Campus Kamp-Lintfort, at the earliest possible date as a Research Associate / PhD Student in the project ‘Eco-Innovations’ Reference number 09/F4/24 German TV-L pay scale level EG 13 | limited for a total of 4 years, initially limited to 1 year (“discovery phase”) and after successful evaluation of the discovery phase, an extension for a 3-year “research phase” will follow according to § 2 Abs. 1 S. 1 (WissZeitVG) | part time with an average of 31,86 weekly hours YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES Conducting of high quality conceptual and empirical research in the fields of Environmental and Innovation Economics as part of your future PhD project Analysis of an existing dataset on eco-related activities of European citizens by a combination of methods Working both independently in your PhD project and in collaboration with other researchers at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences and cooperation partners of the project “Eco-innovations” Further development of the research project and support in the acquisition of third-party funds Both design and communication of policy implications and also presentation of research results at academic conferences YOUR SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Above-average Master's degree in economics in the relevant field (higher and additional qualifications are preferred) Strong motivation to conduct and publish high quality research on the topic of Environmental Innovation Strong understanding and willingness to learn quantitative methods (e.g. Binary Non-linear Models, Structural Equation Modelling or similar) Work experience in relevant international research, educational or policy institutes is highly appreciated Previous publications in peer-reviewed journals on a comparable topic are a strong plus Independent working style with effective time management Fluency in English and basic command of German is welcomed As an international university with co-operating partners from other countries, we encourage researchers with an international background and diversity competencies to apply.
