We are looking for a Project Manager to our Environmental Systems for our team of strong cleantech professionals developing, selling, and delivering flue gas cleaning to onshore energy and pulp industry. This position is located in Langenfeld, Germany,
As Project Manager you will manage our delivery projects from definition phase to project completion. Your main responsibility is to lead the project with the support of Engineering Manager and your own project team ensuring fulfillment of contractual obligations and securing the project to a predictable financial result.
Your responsibilities include project execution planning, contract management, budget estimating and follow-up, schedule management, internal and external reporting, risk & opportunity management, communication with different stakeholders as well as management of possible contractual disputes with customers and subcontractors. An important part of the Project Manager’s job is to develop the interface between Valmet and the customer, as that is usually the way to best outcomes.
The Project Manager also offers support during sales phase, overseeing that the contractual terms and conditions are realistic from a project execution perspective and ensuring a smooth transfer from sales to execution.
Expectations
To be successful in this position you should have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with priority in technical field and solid experience in international project execution. Experience from the industry is also highly appreciated. You are fluent in English and German, both written and verbal. This position requires travelling.
You are customer-oriented, tenacious, self-driven, possess “go-get”-attitude and have excellent communication skills. To lead the project team and stakeholders you need to know how to motivate people and manage different expectations. You are prepared to justify your views and even enjoy the occasional debate. You are naturally good with numbers and additionally understand the indirect cost implications of your decisions.
