The Position Principal Scientist as in vitro neuropharmacologist in the department of Neuroscience and Mental Health at Boehringer Ingelheim in Biberach. In this position, you will lead a lab of individuals setting up assays to explore novel mechanisms of action. Additionally, you will be involved in and lead portfolio projects throughout the different Research phases. Tasks & responsibilities - In your new role, you will lead an in vitro lab for neuropharmacological exploration of mechanisms of actions of portfolio project compounds as well as setup assays to address N&MH portfolio project requirements. - Furthermore, you will serve as an experienced research project leader of N&MH portfolio projects, advancing the projects and providing strategic guidance. - With your scientific expertise, you will strategically lead for exploration of novel NCE modalities to open to date unexplored chemical and target space for future N&MH portfolio projects. - Additionally, you will contribute to the N&MH portfolio via involvement in work-streams to assess novel target ideas and deliver research plans. Requirements - PhD degree in biochemistry or neurology or an equivalent qualification Pharmacy - Long-term industry experience in drug discovery and development - Several years demonstrated experience exploring in vitro neuropharmacology and mechanism of action characterization. - Proven line function leadership skills of both technical staff and lab scientists - Strong understanding of neurobiology and neuronal signaling - Ability to deliver high quality results and make timely decisions with well balanced analysis and intuition - Expert communication skills in English, in German advantageous Ready to contact us?
