The position of General Manager Central Europe is responsible for driving the business growth and geographic expansion of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and Eastern Europe. The job holder will be responsible for the smart application and adaptation of global and regional SDx strategies to local market conditions. The SDx business consists in multiple product / service lines across the diagnostics spectrum across services (eg. Reference Labs services), medical devices (i.e. point of care diagnostics and imaging equipment) and consumer facing products (i.e. At-Home diagnostics). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Full P & L responsibility for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and Eastern Europe. - Lead the commercial strategy and development including sales team, sales program and pipeline management. - Implementation of the expansion of the product and service portfolio - Develop and implement a local/regional: - sales strategy focusing on profitable growth and market diversification; and yearly business plan, including to meet key targets for turnover, market contribution, local EBITA, net working capital, customer satisfaction and employee engagement. - Drive continuously internal process improvements - Maintain hands-on regional key account management in close interaction with local and global internal and external stakeholders. - Management of distribution and logistics team, including inventory, vendor and systems management - Continued management, improvement and implementation of a successful customer service model in the context of a diverse product offering (med tech and science, products and services) - Be the leadership face of Mars to all Associates in SDx Central Europe, regardless of reporting lines while working in a matrix environment to support functional reporting groups (legal, IT, Finance, P&O). - Build, engage and develop the diverse and capable pool of talent the business needs to win - Build a culture of high engagement and participation, where everyone is welcome, can contribute fully, be themselves and contribute to business value creation. - Visibly role model and promote the Mars Purpose and The Five Principles and bring them to life every day. - Promote enterprise thinking for holistic value creation, eliminate silo thinking and behaviors. - Build trust, be accessible to Associates and role model open communications. QUALIFICATIONS: - A senior, proven business executive with a track record in leading a business unit in an organization recognized for best-in-class sales and customer service. - Strong financial, analytical and strategic skills, sound judgement, and ability to translate financial acumen into commercial solutions. - An ability to translate strategy into action. - Work experience in matrix organizational structures, international experience / working in a global structure and proven track record working successfully in a matrix organizational structure with competing sales/ marketing/ administrative and service performance target tensions. - Excellent communication and adaptable presentation skills at all stakeholder levels. - Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with public authorities and government. - Desirable work experience in Veterinary Diagnostics businesses, Laboratory businesses, Medtech.
